Spre deosebire de clasicul sampler care are la baza niste biblioteci cu sunete inregistrate , noua tehnologie SWAM (Synchronous Waves Acoustic Modeling) pare a reda aproape indistinct sunetul instrumentelor reale . Este o tehnica de modelare fizica in timp real a undelor prin utilizarea unor algoritmi , pentru care nu este nevoie de samplere.
